| dirk the danking Jul 18 04:34:06pm @applause.if simple is so great,why not have superman sitting on the floor.or his driver's liscense picture.If its soo hard to get through the poster companies(who just don't understand the plight of the simple poster lol)then why do most remakes just have the main character standing there? marketing 101.simply,show people what they know in a way the world's dumbest man will know to buy a ticket.I just wish they would give you a little more credit than that. On the positive side,its a teaser poster that actually teases.And the light could be SYMBOLISM(hope in the dark type shit)or yellow sunlight,which has yet to be mentioned in a Superman movie. |
| Betsy Jul 18 10:02:03am Based on the comments I think the designer, P+A, is a popular guy (or girl). Defenders of the poster seem more interested in congratulating him (or her) than making an argument for the poster on its own merits. In that regard, congratulations to P+A! You seem to have the respect of the movie-poster design community. But the poster is mediocre, that's not a knock on P+A, just a reality of this image, which is a bit underwhelming. My biggest gripe is that the "man of steel" looks a bit boyish and soft. Also, to set Seriously?'s mind at ease, the production photos for this movie all show gold/yellow in the crest. |
| Agency Wars Jul 18 09:36:28am If design agencies stopped bigging up their average posters as soon as they submit them to Imp, then other people/agencies wouldn't overly criticise the designs. P+A did the same on Anna karenina. Man of Steel It's a decent generic teaser poster, not particularly good or bad.. Anna is poor. Nuff said! |

Its fucking boring.The guy who made this poster has a very easy job. You could do this with ANY franchise,just throw the most marketable character on a blank shadowy background. |
