| Jeremy | 05-23-2008 22:22 [E,W] | | Hmmm... interesting enough. They could have chosen a typeface that wasn't as similar to the titles from Juno, but that's that. I don't like the image of Lou on the car while the other actresses are driving. I think a better shot would have been him in the car driving by. | | J.D. | 05-23-2008 15:35 [E,W] | | Jena Malone's face doesn't look right. | | Hanna | 05-26-2008 10:27 [E,W] | | The porportions are off with the people in comparison to the car. The guy on the roof is 8 feet tall. | | boi-boi | 05-27-2008 22:32 [E,W] | | 8 feet tall? That's why he's on the car, he wouldn't fit inside. | | Cappy | 05-31-2008 13:01 [E,W] | The proportions are actually pretty close to spot on. The car is an '89 740 Volvo Wagon, which is 4'7'' in height. Proportionally, that would make the guy on the roof 5'8'' and since the Lou Taylor Pucci is 5'7'' I think we can call it close enough. Actually, kudos to the designer if they just eyeballed it.
To me, the biggest problem with this poster is the motion blur to try to make it look like a car that's clearly stationary is moving. To do that you have to, among other things, use a radial blur on the tires (because they'd be spinning) and the motion blur on the background, not the car. The shadow under the car also looks very unnatural. | | jhpub | 07-16-2008 13:21 [E,W] | | Thanks cappy... proportions are sometimes tough. The radial blur on the wheels was requested to be reduced down... Not easy to illustrate motion and still keep the image clear enough to identify the cast. In reality - this image would be either a massive blur, or mostly sharp (except the wheels - as stated) if photographed along side the moving subject... think about it. thx for the interest! JHPUB |
