We only have a small image at the moment from MovieMarket, but here is poster for the Ashton Kutcher / Brittany Murphy film Just Married.

From UIP Netherlands comes the second one sheet for Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can. I thought that the teaser (with a blurry Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio) wasn't all that hot, but this one is just wretched. I can't imagine anyone wanting to see the film based on this unimaginative poster. However, with those stars and that director, I suppose they don't need to worry too much. Still, they could have tried a little...
Meanwhile, it looks like the previous Two Towers poster was not the "final" poster for the film. According to the official site, this new one, which is much more original than the previous "floating heads" one, will be the final poster. But I won't be too surprised if the previous one will be the one seen most on theater walls.

From JoBlo.com comes the poster for the controversial film Max starring John Cusack as a Jewish art dealer who befriends a frustrated young artist by the name of Adolf Hitler (played by Noah Taylor). A rather straightforward poster design, though the eyes certainly add a creepy feel to the poster and there is a nice touch of turning the X in Max into a swastika - the only way of knowing what the subject matter of the film might be about.

Meanwhile, if you have a taste for horror films, you might want to help determine the poster design for the film House of 1000 Corpses. Go over to the official site to vote on the three possible designs.

Two new posters from LatinoReview. First of all we have the very impressive final poster for Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York. What is especially great about this poster is how the tears in the American flag create a New York skyline. Then we have the one sheet for the George Clooney directed film Confessions of a Dangerous Mind starring Sam Rockwell, Julia Roberts, Drew Barrymore, and Clooney himself.

Thursday, November 21st, 2002

From IGN FilmForce comes the one sheet for Final Destination 2. Meanwhile, if you want to see the look of the character posters for X-Men 2, a few of them are up at Ain't It Cool News.

Tuesday, November 19th, 2002

From UIP Netherlands comes the poster for The Life of David Gale starring Kevin Spacey, Kate Winslet, and Laura Linney.

Monday, November 18th, 2002

Today's posters are pretty much a non-event. First of all we have the final one sheet for Chicago which is basically just a conglomeration of the previous three character posters. Then we have They, which looks an awful lot like the poster for Apt Pupil. Finally, we have Equilibrium featuring Christian Bale at his homeliest. And this poster seems to be just a rip-off of another 1998 film, The Negotiator. Call me a little fussy, but there does not seem to be much originality here. [posters from Dark Horizons]

Friday, November 15th, 2002

A couple minor additions to start the weekend. First of all there is the poster for Dancer Upstairs, John Malkovich's directing debut starring Javier Bardem (Before Night Falls). Then there is another poster for Disney's Treasure Planet and a better quality image of Empire starring John Leguizamo.

Wednesday, November 13th, 2002

From LatinoReview comes the poster for Drumline and from Poster Image Archive comes a small copy of the poster for Blue Car

Tuesday, November 12th, 2002

From Zap2It comes the one sheet for the Hugh Grant / Sandra Bullock romantic comedy Two Weeks Notice. A pretty simple poster in one sense. After all, it's just a picture of the two lead stars posing. But the expressions on their faces is what makes this one pretty memorable, especially Hugh Grant's "I'm too happy to be human" smile.

Just one new poster to add to the site today: Personal Velocity, winner of the Grand Jury prize at the Sundance Film Festival, starring Kyra Sedgwick, Parker Posey, and Fairuza Balk.

Wednesday, November 6th, 2002

From ComingSoon! comes the latest poster for maid in manhattan. This one basically just combines the first two posters, presumably because someone thought that showing Jennifer Lopez's face twice on the poster couldn't be a bad idea. However, the previous poster, showing her looking at her fantasy reflection in the mirror, was much better. And from Empire Movies we have the somewhat bland poster for Gods and Generals, the prequel to Gettysburg.

Not the best quality scan, but here is a look at the poster for next year's Ben Affleck film Daredevil. Nothing too exciting here. A good look at the superhero in a typical superhero pose.

Thursday, October 31st, 2002

While the IMP was away seeking out a new cavern to live in, the latest poster for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers arrived. A couple days late, but... Better looking than the original teaser, but it's still just one of those "plaster all the faces on one page" posters. Other new additions include Real Women Have Curves, The Jungle Book 2, and a better quality image of The Haunted Mansion.

Monday, October 28th, 2002

From Seymour Butz comes Buns of Steel II: Turning the Other Cheek. Okay, so it is actually Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, but based on how pathetic the first Charlie's Angels film was, I'm sure either film would have about as much intelligence. You get what you deserve for watching a movie directed by someone with only one name. Basically, this is just the teaser poster for Rush Hour 2 with better looking butts. [image from Ain't It Cool News]

Sunday, October 27th, 2002

From FilmForce comes the creepy poster for Darkness Falls. Other new posters include the quad for Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later and a French poster for Die Another Day, which is a mish-mash of most of the other posters.

Tuesday, October 22nd, 2002

From JoBlo.com comes the first one sheet for Solaris, the new Steven Soderbergh film starring George Clooney. Perhaps they are trying to emphasize the romance and ignore the sci-fi element of the film, but the poster feels like a bad case of false advertising. It's a couple kissing. So what? This could just as easily have been the poster for Clooney's One Fine Day (or did those characters even get to kiss?) Why can't there be at least something that hints at the sci-fi or supernatural element? "George Clooney Kisses" should not be what they are selling.

Friday, October 18th, 2002

From JoBlo.com comes 6 character posters for next year's The Matrix Reloaded. Interesting how they purposefully cut off the heads of every character here. Being unable to see their eyes, they all appear unemotional, almost un-human. And, of course, they look cool that way. I'm also very happy that they did not provide the character names on each of the poster (like they did for the recent Die Another Day character posters). Those always make the posters rather cheesy.
Also from JoBlo.com we have the IMAX poster for Attack of the Clones. Finally, from Poster Image Archive comes the one sheet for Kangaroo Jack. Is this Joe Camel's Australian cousin?

Thursday, October 17th, 2002

A few belated poster updates today, including Sean Penn in The Weight of Water (finally released in the US a couple years behind the rest of the world) as well as the intriguing poster for Adaptation, Spike Jonze's follow-up to Being John Malkovich starring Nicolas Cage, Meryl Streep, and Chris Cooper. Finally, there is Evelyn starring Pierce Brosnan and the second one sheet for The Ring

Sunday, October 13th, 2002

Two second posters from Poster Image Archive today. First of all we have Adam Sandler's animated Christmas film Eight Crazy Nights. This one gives us a much better look at the style of the film, but it does have that creepy animated version of Sandler front and center. Very scary. Speaking of scary, the second poster for Santa Clause 2 still has the world's creepiest looking Santa taking up the bulk of the view with only a few minor additions in the background compared to the original.

Thursday, October 10th, 2002

From Coming Soon! we have the third poster design for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Personally, I prefer the previous poster. My main gripe about both posters is the expression on Weasley's face. He looks like an utter moron!
From Poster Image Archive comes the poster for Shanghai Knights. I had to take a peek at the original Shanghai Noon poster to make sure they didn't just use the exact same design. And it is different, for sure, but nothing too original. And why has Owen Wilson lost his guns and cowboy outfit? Now it just looks like two funny looking martial artists take on England. Shame shame shame!

Tuesday, October 8th, 2002

From LatinoReview comes the teaser poster for Steven Spielberg's catch me if you can. A rather daring poster (a typical bonus of teasers) considering the images of Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio are nothing but a blur. Of course even knowing who they are supposed to be, I can't see Tom Hanks anywhere in his blurry form. With that hat and glasses he reminds me more of the strange guy in La Femme Nikita who eventually gets the acid bath.

Friday, October 4th, 2002

From Empire Movies we have three new additions. First of all, there is the controversial Michael Moore documentary Bowling for Columbine. Then we have the second poster for About Schmidt which is only slightly different than the original version. We see a little more of Jack Nicholson and we get to see a background instead of just blue sky and a cloud. Oh yes, and they have removed the "Schmidt happens" reference at the bottom. Finally, we have a second poster for The Truth about Charlie which isn't even remotely close to the original.

From StarTrek.com comes the second poster for Star Trek: Nemesis. Unlike the initial teaser, this one actually features a couple of the Enterprise crew members, but the emphasis still appears to be on the villain. With the exception of Star Trek IV (where they were flying a Klingon ship) this is the only one of the Star Trek films to not feature the Enterprise anywhere on the poster design.

Thursday, October 3rd, 2002

First of all, we have the official poster for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Certainly a vast improvement over the confusing teaser. I'm sure it meant a lot to the true fans of the book, but it left most Moogles wondering who on earth this bizarre Dobby character is. Instead of piquing my curiosity, it simply left me annoyed.
Then we have 3 new posters courtesy of Poster Image Archive. First of all there is Jean Reno in Wasabi, a "French-Language, English-subtitled, Japanese action-comedy". Next, we have the new and vastly improved poster for Maid in Manhattan. The previous poster, under the original title of Made in New York, did little for me, but this one is well done, finding a wonderful way to get across the basic idea of the plot. Finally, we have the one sheet for Interview With the Assassin, a low budget mock documentary centering around one of the shooters on the grassy knoll.

Tuesday, October 1st, 2002

We'll start the new month off with two brand new posters. The first one is for Ararat from Atom Egoyan, director of the haunting Canadian film The Sweet Hereafter. Next we have the poster for Roger Dodger, the new film starring Campbell Scott, Jennifer Beals, and Isabella Rossellini. "Sex is everywhere" according to this poster's tag line. Even in this darkened street where the character is walking? A rather meaningless poster.
