One look at this poster and you would think that it came from the 70s. No coincidence given the fact that its star, Bruce Dern, was at the peak of his early career during that era. This beautiful black and white image shows little of the actor's face but tells us a great deal about the character with its wild and thinning white hair and scruffy face. Imagine taking the poster for Alexander Payne's About Schmidt and turning it into a b&W profile. What could've simply been an interesting portrait of the dishevelled actor becomes haunting and much more intriguing.
